As a grade 3 teacher in a public school, I’ve taught at the elementary level since 2002. My students continue to show me new ways of learning and deepen my understanding of how varied teaching approaches can weave together to help all learners.
Before teaching, my experiences as a dancer, teacher and choreographer for a local modern dance company in Milwaukee led me to place high value on the ways our minds and bodies work together, as we learn, grow and create. I pursued a BFA degree in dance and English before earning my teaching certification, and I enjoy sharing movement and arts learning with students every chance I get. Ongoing areas of interest include: integrated arts learning, the connection between body and mind in learning, social-emotional learning and neurodiversity.
